At the recently held National Sports and Recreation together with SASCOC (South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee) National Sports Awards to recognize and celebrate Sports Excellency in South Africa. Sondisa Magajana was recognised for his outstanding contribution to the development of Judo in South Africa.
Sondisa Magajana won the Award for Sport Volunteer of the year. The President of Judo South Africa, Temba Hlasho, who attended this prestigious event, said “we are extremely proud of Sondisa, he is very active in the development of judo and due to his commitment to the sport, he was recently appointed as the Judo South Africa Development Director.”
Sondisa is based in the Eastern Cape Province (Port Elisabeth) and focuses particularly on the development of visually impaired children as he feels that through judo these children have the chance to be included into the society and he is fighting against any kind of discriminations on a daily basis.
