Second day of Abu Dhabi Judo Grand Prix

The second day of Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi which was dedicated for the categories of -63kg and -70 kg for the women and -73kg and -81kg for the men was not with good expecta tions for the African teams. Two girls were enterd in the category of-63kg lost. They both lost in the first round. The Algerian athlete SAIDI Kahina lost against the Chinese Xu Yuhua who achieved a great performance by beating in final block the Frenchwoman AGBEGNENOU Clarisse. This allowed her to climb on the on the highest step of the podium. The Egyptian girl had been defeated by the Russian KOVAL Vera. On the men’s side four Africans took part to the event in the category of-73kg. Only the Egyptian HAFIZ Hussem was able to cross the first round but failed to go further after losing in a difficult fight against the Brazilian PENALBER Victor. In the category of-81kg five athletes of the African continent participated. They represented Algeria Cameroon, Tunisia, Zambia and Egyp. The Algerian Benamadi Abderahmane who accustomed us with good performances did not appear in good fit although he moved to the second round. This last one gave up at the conclusion of its fight against the Italian HEATHER Francesco. Good hope is expected for the last day with the Algerian BOUYAKOUB Lyès in the category of-90kg and the Egyptian SHEHABY Islam in them +100kg.
