The National Delegations started arriving in Yaoundé, Cameroon for the 31st AJU Senior Championships and AJU Ordinary General Assembly This is a very important event for the AJU as is will determine the ranking of Senior African Players for the upcoming Olympic Qualification events that kick off in Tunisia in May 2010. This event has not been without it's challenges and one of the main challenges is the Tanami’s which are still in route to Cameroon, but besides this challenge all the arrangements and preparations are running smoothly. Although there a few countries that have full teams represented at this event, there are members from 24 African judo Federations. The Northern African countries, once again show they are a force to be reckoned with, the main competitors being from Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco, the only Southern African Countries that is well represented especially in the men's category are Angola and South Africa. Once again the woman competitors are not well represented and Federations are urged to develop their female players.
