Kenya Judo Association Elections

On Saturday the 20th February 2013, all gathered in Nairobi, Kenya, for the quadrennial elective Annual General Assembly.

The Elective Annual General Assembly is the largest and most important gathering in Kenya Judo Associations calendar, the Assembly being the association’s supreme body.

Bringing together all the delegates from across Kenya’s judo clubs. Aside from approving reports and hearing of recent developments from KJA, the Annual General Assembly is also responsible, every four years, for the election of Executive Positions in order to drive the mandate and the vision of Kenya Judo.

The new Executive elected into office until 2017 are as follows :

  1. President - Mr.Mwangi Mbutu
  2. Vice President- Mr. Shuaib Adam
  3. Honourable General Secretary - Mr. Shadrack Maluki
  4. Assistant General Secretary - Mrs Joan Githua
  5. Treasurer - Mr. David Busolo
  6. Assistant Treasurer - Mr. Joseph Ochieng
  7. Sports/Technical Director - Mr.Johnson Mwadime
  8. Refereeing Director - Ms Jenniffer Jean Louis
  9. Coaching and Education Director - Mr. Joseph Mburu
  10. Publicity Secretary - Mr. Duncan Chemiryo

The Honourable General Secretary, Mr Maluki commented that “The elections were conducted in full supervision of government officials and the elections were free and fair.” He also took the opportunity to thank you on behalf of the Judo family of Kenya for the support rendered to them during the trying moments of the running of Judo in Kenya. On behalf of the African Judo Union we wish the new executive committee of the Kenya Judo Association the best of luck.
